Flexography or flexographic printing is a direct method of rotary printing similar to typography, which uses resilient, rubber-relief or photopolymer material printing plates.
The plates (clichés) are mounted on the plate rollers and inked by means of a cell structure “alinox” metering roller which transfers liquid, quick-drying ink onto them, for printing on virtually any absorbent or non-absorbent support.
The most obvious application is in the production of plastic films for foodstuff packaging. But direct printing is also very important where corrugated cardboard and printing on aluminium, paper, card and even wood are concerned..
